About
EthanolRailroad.com was started to share information with others about the hazards of Ethanol Refineries and to caution Ethanol Refinery Neighbors that they may not matter to the local government more than the dollars matter.
What makes sense:
Strategic placement of Ethanol Refineries
Capturing all volatile organic compounds and heavy metals released from the plant
Designing traffic patterns to reduce interruption of current structure nor endanger local neighbors with either traffic or pollution (noise, emissions, spills, etc) from trucks (plants have been known to be 14 miles from their city water supply)
Not disturbing existing Wetlands - protected or not
Not locate a rural plant any closer than 1 mile from more than 4 neighbors (preferrably those who would have corn to sell the refinery)
Select a location where the extra land for the air quality permit is in the direction of the prevailing winds
